Curriculum vitae

On 1 May 2005, Jannette Beuving was appointed a member of the Dutch Data Protection Authority by Royal Decree. The appointment is for a period of four years.

From 2000 until 2005, Ms J. Beuving served on the bench of the Almelo District Court.

In 1991 she completed her studies in Dutch law at Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen (with honours).

She was a lecturer in private law from 1991 to 1996 at Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen and from 1997 to 2000 at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In 1996, she obtained her doctorate at Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen with a thesis on factoring, under the guidance of Prof. S.C.J.J. Kortmann, LL.M., Ph.D. In 1997 she completed the Professional Training Course for lawyers, and was employed as a lawyer at Dirkzwager Advocaten in Nijmegen.

She has published articles on private law, in particular on factoring. She lectured on this subject from 1996 to 2003 at the Financing & Securities Course organized by Grotius-opleiding.
