Regulations

In contrast to the Wet persoonsregistraties (WPR; previous Data Protection Act), the Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens (Wbp; Dutch Data Protection Act) no longer stipulates the obligation to draw up regulations for specific processing of personal data. However, drawing up regulations can be an excellent means of controlling the data processing within organisations or of making this processing more transparent. In principle, the Dutch DPA only deals with requests to test such regulations if there is a special reason to do so.
